The DLS 5404 by Spirent is a Differential Mode Noise Injector that seamlessly integrates with the DLS 5500 Custom Noise Generator. This specialized injector serves as a high-impedance noise injection circuit, facilitating the application of generated noise from the DLS 5500 onto the simulated Wireline in a differential-mode manner. The DLS 5404 features a fixed range configuration, eliminating the need for a control connection. Its insertion loss remains fixed, providing consistent performance. Furthermore, this injector offers an auxiliary function in the form of micro interrupt generation. Upon establishing a successful connection, the Control Application of the DLS 5500 automatically configures the DLS 5500 to default settings and enables the controls in the Micro Interrupts section of the interface. Within the Injection System field, the user has the flexibility to select the DLS 5404. As a result, the Loss fields pertaining to each channel will be disabled, streamlining the configuration process.
